UBS Asset Management has continued its bid to grow its European pensions business by recruiting an ex-Bank of Ireland buyside veteran as its head of consultant relations for the UK – a new role that the manager says will help “shape” its operations in the country.

Michael McCabe has more than 20 years' buyside experience, most recently at State Street Global Advisors and, from 1996 to December 2010, at the Bank of Ireland - whose asset management arm was bought by SSgA for €57 million in January 2011.
