UBS has been fined HK$119m ($15.1m) and faces being banned from advising on public share sales in Hong Kong for 18 months following a regulatory investigation into previous deals.

The decision by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) to suspend UBS from acting as a financial sponsor in the territory is a blow to its equity capital markets business in Asia.
