UBS’s overhaul to how it pays its brokers may make it one of the most attractive big brokerages to work at, but it still may not be enough to keep some of the Swiss bank’s brokers from striking out on their own.

UBS on June 8 unveiled sweeping changes to its US brokerage, UBS Wealth Management Americas. Changes include a simplified compensation plan for 2017 that will pay some advisers more than before, a slimmer management structure and a pullback from recruiting.
