John Pickard has been appointed head of European equities at UBS Global Asset Management following Richard West's decision to extend his sabbatical.

Pickard, a global equity manager who has been with UBS for 18 years, will take on management responsibility for the underperforming UK equity team as well as retaining his remit for the Europe Middle East Africa equity teams based in Zurich, Frankfurt and Paris.
