UBS hikes bonuses by nearly 50% for senior employees after bumper year

UBS hiked bonuses for a select group of senior staff by nearly 50% after a bumper year for the Swiss bankers traders and investment bankers.

The Swiss bank paid $983m in bonuses to around 650 senior bankers known as key risk takers, which are senior staff whose actions can influence the risk profile of the bank. Overall compensation for this group during the year was $1.4bn, or an average payment of $2.1m.
