The departure of UBS Warburg's Australian head of mining has threatened the bank's profitable relationship with BHP-Billiton, the Anglo-Australian mining and natural resource giant.

Chris Baohm has left UBS Warburg to set up a Melbourne office for Gresham Partners, a boutique Australian investment bank.
