More heat on UBS for losses

'No' vote urged on proposal to absolve former executives of responsibility

UBS will face opposition this week from some shareholders over its plan to absolve former executives of responsibility for enormous losses the Swiss bank sustained at the height of the financial crisis.

Several key shareholders and influential advocacy groups are urging the UBS annual general meeting to vote on Wednesday against the discharge of former managers from potential culpability for part of the $50bn in writedowns at the bank.
