UBS tops ranking as world's largest investment house

UBS Group has topped the ranks of the world's largest investment houses, with total assets under management of over $1.5 trillion (€1.7 trillion) following its acquisition of PaineWebber last year.

The Zurich-based group saw assets increase 44% after its acquisition of the US private client firm, according to a survey conducted by Pensions & Investments and Watson Wyatt, the investment consultancy firm.
