UBS Warburg has hired three former bankers from the financial institutions group (FIG) at Credit Suisse First Boston to boost its presence in the sector in the US, which has so far been muted.

Michael Martin joins as global head of FIG, replacing Gregg Sando, who quit for Deutsche Bank last summer. In addition, Olivier Sarkozy and John Adams, two of Martin's former CSFB colleagues, have moved across with him to be managing directors in the US FIG team.
