UBS whistleblower gets $104m

The IRS awarded tax whistleblower and former UBS banker Bradley Birkenfeld $104m for providing information about secret offshore accounts held by US taxpayers

The Internal Revenue Service awarded tax whistleblower and former UBS banker Bradley Birkenfeld $104m for providing the agency with insider information in UBS's illegal encouragement of secret offshore accounts by US taxpayers.

Birkenfeld's lawyers said this is believed to be the largest reward ever given to an individual whistleblower in the US.
