UK balanced funds have dipped back into negative territory in the first quarter of 2003, according to the latest Russell/Mellon Caps figures.

They show a median return of -4.4% after positive returns in the last three months of 2002. This means that the median return for these funds over the 12 months to March 31, 2003 stands at -23.7%.
