UK banks eclipse peers for top-level progress on gender diversity

Among investment banks, US bank Citi has the highest proportion of women on its board

UK banks have made the most progress on board-level gender diversity since 2015, leapfrogging their European rivals and extending their lead over the US.

The research, carried out by people consultancy New Street Group which looked at the boards of directors of the world’s 50 largest banks and 10 largest banks by assets, found that women accounted for 37% of board members in the UK.
