UK Berkshire fund cuts equities for £50m venture push

The £960m (€1.6bn) pension fund of Royal County of Berkshire, the UK local authority, is to invest up to £50m in private equity and cut its allocation to existing equity managers.

The new venture push could threaten the size of equity mandates run by existing managers JP Morgan Fleming Asset Management, Barclays Global Investors, Schroder Investment Management, Wellington Management and Gartmore Investment Management.
