Busy cities in the UK could be heading for tougher lockdown measures as the rate of the spread of coronavirus continues to spike across the country, a government minister has said.

The government implemented a 10pm closure time for all pubs, restaurants and shops in England last week, but the changes did little to prevent scores of Britons continuing to gather in homes and public places after last orders.
