UK companies are failing to innovate to communicate

Europe and the US lead the way as the corporate video changes its stripes in the digital age

European companies have been slow to exploit design and technology to improve their communications with investors. Robert Moser, managing director of Merchant, a design and communications consultancy, said: "Companies see the annual report and the website as a place to dump information but, with a bit of thought, you can turn them in to things that people will learn from."

Merchant analysed company reporting trends and found UK groups in particular showed little innovation in how they communicated with investors.
