UK companies face faster disclosure time

Firms could suffer lower share prices if they fail to comply

UK companies could see their share prices suffer unless they accelerate their reporting cycles as key elements of the US Sarbanes-Oxley legislation come into force this week.

The new rules insist that US companies file their quarterly results more speedily. While this aspect of Sarbanes-Oxley doesn't affect companies outside the US, it will create a more timely reporting culture.
