UK companies to pull back from M&A as Brexit hits confidence

Deloitte's quarterly survey finds chief financial officers in risk-reduction mode

More than half of UK companies say they are putting acquisitions on hold, as uncertainty over Brexit sends risk appetite spiralling to its lowest level since the financial crisis, according to Deloitte’s latest poll of chief financial officers.

The findings come from the Big Four accountancy firm’s quarterly survey of executives making spending decisions at the UK’s largest companies.
