The UK’s economy shrank by 9.9% in 2020, the largest annual fall on record and the worst slump since 1709, official statistics show.

UK gross domestic product in the fourth quarter of 2020 ended December is estimated to have grown by 1%, following revised 16.1% growth in the third quarter, The Office for National Statistics said.
