UK institutional investors net sellers of property in late 2001

UK institutional pension funds and insurance companies became net sellers of property in the third quarter of 2001, bucking the trend of the previous three years, according to data published by the UK's National Statistics bureau.

There was a £75m (€120m) decrease in institutions' exposure to property in the third quarter of 2001. This compares with an average quarterly increase of £1.2bn since the beginning of 1998.
