UK insurer plans 10% in hedge funds

Goshawk Insurance Holdings, a UK property and marine catastrophe insurer, has allocated 10% of its investment assets to hedge funds.

The company said it was putting $30m (€24m) into a fund of hedge funds operated by Wellington Management, the US asset manager. Goshawk's directors said: "The fund represents a prudent net allocation to the equity market."
