UK law firms mull cuts as clients demand lower fees

Thomson Reuters poll of finance directors at law firms finds a big jump in those considering cuts

Pressure on UK law firms’ profits is increasing, with almost three-quarters of finance directors reporting that they are ready to cut failing business lines.

The survey of heads of finance at 25 of the top 100 UK law firms conducted by Thomson Reuters found a big jump on five years ago, when only 42% said they were considering cuts.
