UK leads Europe in governance issues

Two thirds of European fund managers believe corporate governance standards in companies on the continent are poor and trail those in the UK, according to a survey by investment consultant Mercer.

Seventy per cent of the 55 institutional asset managers questioned said they felt more could be done to improve governance in Europe, while three quarters said UK standards were up to scratch.
