Continental European fund managers feel a greater need to upgrade their expertise in advanced investment techniques and are more likely to do so than their UK counterparts.

In a survey conducted by Falcon Executive, a London-based recruitment firm, of 38 fund management organisations, it is also clear that continental fund management houses put more emphasis on hedge funds (50%) and other alternative investments (50%).
