UK managers should go public on market timing

UK investment fund managers should publicly state that they will not participate in market timing activities to prevent a repeat of the scandals in the US, according to the Investment Management Association, which represents the bulk of the UK asset management industry.

Guidelines issued by the association said investment fund managers should have a formal policy saying they would not take advantage of dealing arbitrage possibilities due to different time zones.
