Miles O'Connor, UK managing director of institutional business at Barclays Global Investors, has left the company after six years to join Schroders, the UK-listed fund manager.

O'Connor has been appointed as head of sales and client services for UK pensions and corporates at Schroders. He will report to Richard Mountford who returns from the Japan office at the end of the year to lead the UK business.
