UK pension funds pin hopes on Asia

Nearly two-thirds of UK pension schemes think that Asia has the biggest potential for gains over the next 10 years but only 7% of their assets are currently invested there, a new poll has found.

The poll, by Baring Asset Management, found that 60% of respondents identified emerging markets in Asia such as China, Malaysia, Korea and Thailand, as the regions with the biggest potential for equity gains.
