UK pension funds suffer third year of losses

UK pension funds have suffered a third consecutive year of negative performance for the first time ever, according to estimates by Russell/Mellon Caps, the performance measurement firm.

For the year ending December 31, UK pension fund performance was a disappointing -11.3%. In 2001 returns were -8.9% and -1.0% in 2000.
