UK pensions protection scheme selects directors

The Department of Work and Pensions has completed the line-up for the board of its Pensions Protection Fund with the appointment of five non-executive directors.

They are: Ian Abrams, a non-executive director of Mizuho International and a member of the Financial Services and Markets Tribunal; Mark Baker, formerly the chair of Magnox Electric and chairman of the $17bn electricity pension fund; Michael Deakin, an actuary and previously chief investment officer of Insight Investment; Jeannie Drake, a trade union member; and Christopher Hughes, a lawyer at Wragge and Co.
