Private equity investment in the UK fell in the first half to its lowest level in more than five years, with sellers avoiding taking assets to market due to Brexit uncertainty, according to a report from KPMG.

Private equity firms completed 384 deals between January and June, a 35% decline from 594 deals over the same period last year. The amount firms spent was down 40% year-on-year to £28.5bn.
