The Bank of England has issued a stark warning to insurers to improve their corporate culture in the wake of allegations of sexual harassment at the heart of the sector.

The bank's Prudential Regulation Authority has written a letter to chief executives of all general insurance companies, expressing “deep concern” over reports relating to misdemeanours in the London market.
