UK rules out costly post-Brexit changes for European banks

European investment banks will be allowed to operate in the UK after Brexit without making costly changes to their business models, the Prudential Regulation Authority will announce today.

Several large European banks — including Deutsche Bank and Societe Generale — carry out their investment banking activities in the UK under a branch structure, meaning they are subject to lower capital rules in the country and receive prudential supervision from their domestic regulators.
