UK has leapt in the dark and a soft landing is unlikely

The British people stared into the abyss. And jumped. It is now anybody’s guess where we will land. And what state we will be in when we do.

In the run-up to the vote, Remain campaigners issued some apocalyptic warnings about the impact of Brexit that will almost certainly prove exaggerated. If the government and people of Britain make the most of the opportunities Brexit offers and work hard to minimise the threats it presents, the long-term impact might not be as bad as predicted. The more immediate economic headwinds may also turn out to be less severe than the doom merchants forecast.
