UK stocks ebbed lower Thursday, following a five-session winning streak for the blue-chip market, with the focus on the US Federal Reserve decision and its flagging of stronger inflation, MarketWatchreports.

The UK’s FTSE 100 index was off 0.1% lower at 7,539.52, led by the consumer goods and telecoms groups. But the oil and gas and utility groups were among those moving higher. On Wednesday, the index rose 0.3% to finish at 7,543.20. That marked a fifth straight winning session.
