UK task force gets tough on pensions

A government-sponsored report has warned that the UK's voluntary pensions system is in "the last chance saloon" but stopped short of recommending compulsion.

The Employer Task Force on Pensions, set up by the government in July 2003 to examine occupational pensions, warned that action needs to be taken if the current voluntary system is to remain in place.
