Asset managers and other financial services firms in the UK will soon be forced to publish details of how they intend to reach net zero carbon emissions, chancellor Rishi Sunak announced.

The UK government will make new laws to require asset managers, listed companies and other financial institutions to publish transition plans that consider the government’s net zero commitment, or provide an explanation if they have not done so, the chancellor is set to tell the COP26 conference on 3 November.
