The UK government plans to rework the certification regime for financial professionals and ease rules around senior manager appointments — part of a slew of measures designed to boost the City’s appeal.

In a “financial services growth and competitiveness strategy” published on 15 July, the Treasury said it will consult on scrapping current legislation for the UK’s certification regime, which covers nearly 140,000 financial workers.
