The reproduction or R rate of coronavirus in the UK has increased to 1.2-1.5 as the government’s scientific advisers warned “there is widespread growth of the epidemic across the country”.

The estimated R number range for the UK is 1.2-1.5 and the estimated growth rate range is +4 to +8% per day, the Government Office for Science and Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) said.
