Ulrich Paefgen, one of Germany's most senior mergers and acquisitions bankers, has joined Rothschild in Germany as its executive vice chairman.

Rothschild has created the position for Paefgen, who resigned his post as head of German M&A at Citigroup last year. His previous employers include SG Warburg and First Boston (now Credit Suisse First Boston).
