UniCredit's chairman on has called an extraordinary board meeting for Tuesday to discuss corporate governance issues related to the bank's top management, a person with knowledge of the situation said on Monday.

This follows weeks of discussions between chief executive Alessandro Profumo, some of UniCredit's Italian shareholders, and chairman Dieter Rampl, the person added.
