Unilever prepares to embrace hedge funds

The pension funds of consumer goods company Unilever, which together have €19bn (€25.2bn) under management, will soon be able to invest in hedge funds for the first time.

The corporate pension team which manages investments for the pension funds is in the process of setting up a hedge fund of funds pooled vehicle. A spokesman for the firm said the launch was imminent.
