Union threatens strike action over Thomson Reuters cuts

A UK trade union is preparing to organise a strike among journalists at Thomson Reuters unless the newly-merged information provider agrees to moderate its proposals for compulsory job cuts.

Thomson Reuters plans to cut more than 70 editorial positions in the UK following the completion of its £8bn (€10bn) merger, according to Barry Fitzpatrick, a national organiser with the National Union of Journalists.
