Regulators push to settle Deutsche Bank Libor case this year

The bank would become the latest in a series of large European banks to be punished by US regulators in recent months

US and British authorities are hoping to extract major penalties from Deutsche Bank in the next few months for alleged manipulation of benchmark interest rates, people familiar with the matter said.

Deutsche Bank would become the eighth financial institution accused of manipulating the London interbank offered rate, or Libor, and other benchmarks.
