US asset managers to oppose transparency bill

Legislation introduced in the US to make the investment industry more transparent will encounter opposition from asset managers this week.

Congressman Richard Baker, head of the house capital markets subcommittee, has introduced the Mutual Funds Integrity and Fee Transparency Bill. Baker wants US mutual funds to provide more information about fees and clarify commission payments and revenue sharing deals.
