US banks outclass European rivals in tech battle for corporate clients

Customer survey of 500 European companies suggests the region's incumbents have a fight on their hands

Large US banking groups such as Citi, JPMorgan and Bank of America have pulled decisively ahead of their European rivals in digital innovation for corporate clients, according to a new report.

The finding, from a survey of almost 500 finance directors and treasurers at European companies conducted by consultancy Greenwich Associates, suggests the region’s banks have a fight on their hands to defend a crucial revenue stream against increasingly aggressive US competitors.
