US 'blank cheque' company appoints Quayle ahead of float

Dan Quayle, a former US Vice President, has joined the board of an aquisitive cash-shell company which is set for a $585m (€435m) float, the second time the controversial structure has hit headlines this week following hedge fund GLG Partners' reverse takeover.

Quayle has joined the board of Heckmann, which hopes to complete the second largest listing by a blank cheque company, according to Bloomberg figures.
