US boutique investment banks win roles on $3.7bn Sanofi deal

Evercore is French drugmaker Sanofi's financial adviser and Centerview Partners is acting for target company Principia

US boutique investment banks Evercore and Centerview Partners have won advisory roles on Sanofi’s $3.68bn acquisition of Principia Biopharma.

Sanofi agreed to buy Principia for $100 per share in cash, it announced in a statement on 17 August. Aimed at strengthening Sanofi’s research capabilities in autoimmune and allergic diseases, according to the company, the deal is expected to complete in the fourth quarter of 2020.
