US chief executives asked to give up chairman role

The US Conference Board has made a tentative call for US corporate bosses to separate the roles of chief executive and chairman of the board.

The board's Commission on Public Trust and Private Enterprise, co-chaired by John Snow who stands nominated as the next US treasury secretary, is recommending that US boards reform one of three ways.
