Texas Pacific Group and Spectrum Equity Investors, both US-based private equity firms, have bought 11% of the European satellite operator Eutelsat, sparking concern among French authorities.

Texas Pacific and Spectrum said they had bought the stake from minority shareholders wishing to exit their investment. The price was not disclosed but is understood to be for around €200m.
