Despite grabbing headlines, the US exchange sector lost market value in the second quarter of the year, according to the index that tracks the stock performance of six publicly traded exchange holdings.
Launched in January, the Chicago Board Options Exchange's (CBOE) exchange index or EXQ ended on 88.86 on June 30, the end of its first full quarter of trading. This was 18% below a high of 104.80 set on March 16.
