The battle between derivatives giant CME Group and NYSE Euronext’s futures arm, Liffe, is getting spicy.

As the celebrations from the first anniversary of NYSE Liffe's foray on to US turf were just beginning to dissipate, there were reports that the CME Group was considering opening a futures exchange on Liffe's doorstep in London.
